About the offering
01Hosted by HBKU’s College of Science and Engineering, this center tackles complex challenges in autism research by integrating artificial intelligence, advanced sensing technologies, multidisciplinary expertise, and personalized therapeutic approaches. As the first center of its kind in the region, it seeks to enhance educational outcomes for children with autism in Qatar while advancing scientific discovery and creating pathways for innovation and commercialization.
The center’s work is organized around four core areas. First, screening and early detection through AI-powered tools designed for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children. Second, piloting and implementation efforts that translate research into practical applications for clinics, schools, and homes, informed by feedback from individuals with autism and their families. Third, personalized interventions that leverage technologies such as virtual reality and e-learning platforms tailored to individual needs. Fourth, the training of future leaders through PhD and postdoctoral programs that combine hands-on research with international collaboration.
Together, these initiatives support children in developing skills and confidence, while equipping families with tools and knowledge to help their children thrive.
